Try.

Try后接不定式。例如：

try to mend it

尽力把它修好

不要说try and mend it

专修语言的学生会争辩说try and..的用法已经获得公认，并变成习语。情况确是这样。这种说法比较随便，也可以接受。但try to.…更为精确，所以当你写正式的文章时，尽量用try to…。

Type.

它不是kind of的同义词。下面左栏的例子是常见的粗俗说法。

that type employce

that kind of employee

（那种雇员）

small，home-type hotels

small，homelike hotels

（小型的家庭式旅馆）

a new type plane

a plane of a new design（new kind）

（一种新式飞机）

Unique.

该词意为“独一无二”，因此不可能有程度的差别。例如：
